I had a wonderful time at a local ladies’ book club. The conversation and questions were fantastic. They liked my book and those boosts to an author’s ego are always welcome. They help keep us writing.
In our discussion, I announced that a sequel to The Eagle Scout Picture, set in 1946 as the Cold War begins, is on the way.

A large crowd greeted the release of The Eagle Scout Picture and took home some print books. The first print run sold out that night. Gary spoke about the inspiration for the gripping WWII drama and the process of writing the fictional tale of Nazi Germany. Before reading a suspenseful section from the opening chapter, he recognized nine early readers and shared the contribution each made in the development of the drama. He autographed purchases while period music from the book played through the social hall.

This evening, friends gathered for the unboxing of my new novel, The Eagle Scout Picture. Seeing my debut novel finally in print was a special event. and being able to share it with friends made it perfect. Each guest had a role in getting the novel published, so I thanked them for being editors, early readers, and idea suggesters with champagne. Present were Bobbie Howell, Jeff Howell, Mary Helen Vera Lowry, Stan Sisson, Joyce Sisson, Val Melgares, Jose Melgares, Liz Tullis, John Tullis, and Linda Bell.
